The apocalypse [a dream with in a dream]

I see it coming
I feel its approach
My hair stands on end
and my gut shivers
the stress cuts in

I work my bones to the marrow
I’m a prisoner of my mind
I work a 5 to 9 job as
I sweat my rust

Thoughts dancing on the night sky
leaving visions in my eye
This is it, the apocalypse
oceans rise,
the ground quakes
shy’s bleed
minds grow.
We need to go.

Drum roll
a chorus line
leaving souls on the line
This is it, the apocalypse
and we all die
but this is but a dream
a waking mind
an eye-opening from a dreaming time.
a dream with in a dream

About Amanda Shelton

I write, and I do digital art. My life is never too boring, I think too much for my life to be nothing but interesting. I always put myself into my writing, so if you want to know how I think then just read my poetry, and short stories. Also I am brutally honest, and I love everyone unconditionally. No one is a stranger to me, I will treat you like I treat everyone else, like family.
